Cleansing is an essential part of the daily skincare routine and an easy way to boost your skin's health. However, we know that finding the right products to use for your skin type can be a challenge in itself.

While we remain true to our roots as specialists in home use beauty devices, we also have a strong interest in what's happening in the world of skincare, from creams to cosmetics. We often come into close contact with brands that are constantly changing the beauty landscape. Occasionally, we also discover products that complement beauty technology perfectly. That's why we've partnered up with luxury skincare brand Goldfaden MD to give you the tools to create a personalised daily regime.

Founded in the United States, the brand takes inspiration from nature's anti-oxidants and rich botanicals to create advanced skincare solutions for everyday use. We spoke to the co-founding team about the Goldfaden philosophy, natural skincare and how to supercharge your treatment with beauty technology.

Tell us about the story behind Goldfaden.

Dr. Goldfaden started formulating products back in the 80s as “clean” alternative solutions to new procedures being offered in Dematologist practices. The availability of skincare products in the marketplace was very scarce at that time.

Prior to our brand entering the market, customers had to choose between Doctor Developed Advanced Treatments or Organic Skincare. It was a binary choice. We saw a huge opportunity to bring Goldfaden MD products to the marketplace because they truly bridge the gap between medical-strength and natural skincare.

We’ve been pioneers in creating non-toxic formulas made from active botanicals. It’s meeting a huge need within our global marketplace to bring our vision, products and passion to a broader audience across the world.

Why is it so important to choose natural skincare?

Our skin is our body’s largest organ. Studies have found that our skin can absorb up to approximately 60% of the products that we put on it. So, we need to educate ourselves and be familiar with what we’re putting on our skin. Many products on the market contain chemicals, artificial colours and fillers which can cause redness, irritation and breakouts. This combination may also lead to damaging effects over the long-term. We truly believe that the key to healthy-looking skin comes from a holistic approach to wellness, including diet, exercise and topical treatments.

How do your products target specific skin concerns?

Following on from our experience and success in treating skin issues, we’ve built our product range to solve common problems most of us will encounter over our lifetimes. Taking inspiration from in-office procedures (such as topical plumping, flash facials and microdermabrasion), Dr. Goldfaden uses state-of-the-art technology and active plant cells to enrich each formula. The results are visible and well-tolerated on all complexions, even those with sensitive skin.

By contrast, all our products are made without harsh, synthetic ingredients. Our commitment is to create safe and effective products that utilise the most innovative and naturally-derived ingredients to deliver noticeable results.

Which products would you recommend for using with a facial cleansing device?

Our Pure Start formula is a daily multi-tasking hypoallergenic cleanser that dissolves impurities, removes dead skin cells, excess oil and make-up in one simple step. It’s perfect for using on all skin types.

The Detox Clarifying Facial Wash is a powerful cleanser that’s been specifically designed to address problem skin, reaching deep into pores to gently remove stubborn dirt and oils. Skin is left looking smoother, more refined and rejuvenated.

Do your customers use any other devices to complement their treatment?

Yes – we are huge advocates for using cleansing, light therapy and micro-needling devices as part of a daily skincare routine. There is so much innovation in beauty technology right now and many of these devices have been shown to increase overall topical treatment to repair and rejuvenate the skin. We always tell our patients that the more you can practice with your at-home regime, the better.
