Cookies Policy

Last updated: 22 August 2025

This Cookie Policy explains how The Beauty Tech Group Ltd t/a CurrentBody (“CurrentBody”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on us.urrentbody.com and (together, the “Site”).

This page provides plain-English information about what we use and how you can control it. A detailed, automatically generated cookie list appears below this policy and is kept up to date by our consent platform (Pandectes).

1. Who we are

The controller for cookies and similar technologies on the Site is The Beauty Tech Group Ltd, Glasshouse, Alderley Park, Congleton Road, Nether Alderley, Cheshire, SK10 4ZE, United Kingdom.

Queries: yourdata@currentbody.com.

For how we use personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.

2. What technologies we use

We and our partners use: cookies, local/session storage, pixels, tags and SDKs, and device identifiers/security tokens. These help the Site work, keep checkout secure, remember preferences, measure performance and show/restrict marketing.

3. Your choices — consent and control

  • In the UK/EEA, we set non-essential technologies only with your consent. Strictly necessary technologies run to provide the service you request (e.g., secure checkout, fraud prevention, load balancing).

  • Our banner gives you clear choices: Accept all, Decline non-essential, Save choices and Manage settings. We make it as easy to refuse as to accept.

  • You can change or withdraw consent at any time via Cookie settings in the banner or the Site footer.

  • If you delete cookies or use a different browser/device, you’ll need to set preferences again. Nothing in this policy grants rights beyond what your local law requires.

3.1 Consent records

We keep a record of your cookie choices (date/time, country, preference state and the policy version shown) so we can demonstrate compliance.

4. Legal bases

  • Strictly necessary technologies are used on legitimate interests or contract necessity (to provide a service you request, keep the Site secure and prevent fraud).

  • Functional, Performance/Analytics and Advertising/Targeting technologies are used with your consent in the UK/EEA.

5. Regional choices

  • United Kingdom & EEA. Non-essential technologies are off until you consent.

  • California. You can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information used for cross-context advertising via Your Privacy Choices (linked from our footer). We also honour opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC); if you send a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out for that browser.

  • Other regions. We apply local law requirements and provide controls substantially similar to those described here. Providing these controls does not extend UK/EEA consent rules or create new rights where local law does not require them.

6. Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary – required for the Site to function and for security, fraud prevention and compliance. Includes checkout/session cookies, load-balancer cookies, Cloudflare security tokens, and tools used to detect and prevent fraud (e.g., Signifyd/ThreatMetrix identifiers). These cannot be switched off in our systems.

  • Functional – enable enhanced features and personalisation (e.g., customer support widgets, video players, locale and preference storage).

  • Performance / Analytics – help us understand how the Site is used and improve performance (e.g., Google Analytics, Shopify analytics, Hotjar session analytics configured without recording sensitive fields). In the UK/EEA, analytics only loads after consent; we avoid collecting keystrokes or sensitive fields and limit data retention in our analytics tools.

  • Advertising / Targeting – used by us and our partners to measure campaigns, limit frequency, build audiences and show relevant ads on other sites and apps (e.g., Google Ads/DoubleClick, Meta, TikTok, Spotify/Podsights). These are set only with consent in the UK/EEA, and you can opt out at any time.

  • Unclassified – items we are in the process of classifying. We treat these as non-essential and do not set them until you choose Accept all or enable the relevant category. We review and reclassify regularly.

7. Third-party cookies and partners

Some cookies are set by third parties that provide services to us (for example, Shopify, Google, Meta, TikTok, Spotify/Podsights, Hotjar, Cloudflare, Videowise, Gorgias, Signifyd/ThreatMetrix). We contract with these providers to protect your data and restrict their use to the purposes described. For certain events collected via platform pixels and tools (for example Meta and TikTok), we and the platform may act as joint controllers; you can exercise your rights with either of us. Details for each item (name, provider, purpose and lifetime) appear in the list below.

8. Local storage and similar technologies

Where we or our partners store identifiers or state in local/session storage (for example, __pdst and spdt-… keys used by Podsights/Spotify for advertising attribution, or _kla* keys used by Klaviyo for onsite experiences), we treat them the same way as cookies: we request consent in the UK/EEA where they’re not strictly necessary and give you tools to withdraw consent.

9. Fraud prevention and security

We use technologies to detect and prevent fraud, protect accounts and ensure secure payments (for example, device identifiers from Signifyd/ThreatMetrix and Cloudflare Turnstile tokens). These are strictly necessary and always active. For more about anti-fraud checks and our partners, see our Privacy Policy. (We do not use credit reference agencies for this purpose.)

10. Retention

The lifetime of each item is shown in the table below. Retention periods are set by us or our partners and may change; we periodically rescan the Site with Pandectes and reclassify technologies (including when partners change). Newly detected non-essential items remain off in the UK/EEA until you consent. You can clear stored data at any time via your browser settings.

11. International transfers

Some partners are located outside the UK/EEA. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, and we apply additional measures where needed. Where a U.S. recipient is certified, we may rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the UK Extension; otherwise we rely on SCCs and/or the UK IDTA.

12. Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy after rescans, partner changes or legal updates. We’ll update the Last updated date at the top and highlight significant changes on the Site.

13. Contact us

If you have questions about this Cookie Policy or your choices, contact yourdata@currentbody.com or write to: The Beauty Tech Group Ltd, Glasshouse, Alderley Park, Congleton Road, Nether Alderley, Cheshire, SK10 4ZE, United Kingdom.
